We are back the second time after a sold out show the first time! Laugh Kwai Fong, with another amazing lineup and a guest comedian from Canada!
Sean Hebert is a Toronto-based stand-up comedian and writer who earned nearly a decade of experience entertaining audiences across Canada before moving to China in 2012.
When not on the road, Sean built a name for himself in Hong Kong, where he was a headliner at the Magner’s International Comedy Festival in 2015 and was twice selected as a finalist in the Hong Kong International Comedy Competition. His breadth of work around the Hong Kong scene also earned him favourable coverage from publications like TimeOut Hong Kong, Mirth + More Magazine, HK Magazine, The South China Morning Post, and – hold your applause – the Philippine Airlines’ in-flight magazine.
Maitreyi Karanth an actor, producer took up stand-up comedy as just an extension of her real life persona, at the age of 44. Being married and having lived outside India for 22 years, first in the Middle East and now in Hong Kong, she has a collected a treasure chest of funny experiences across different geographies and cultures.
Ben is a regular performer at the TakeOut Comedy Club in Soho and has performed with a host of international comedians on their Hong Kong and Macau tours. I started my Stand up comedy in 2009 I have been performing for nearly 10 years now! I perform in HK at least once or twice a week.. I’m a regular on the HK circuit. Once a year I go to New York to perform. I have also performed in India, Singapore, the Philippines and China. I have opened for many international acts including Tom Cotter (finalist on America’s got talent), Ruben Paul (Russell Peters opening act), and Pete Lee (has appeared on Jimmy Fallon 3 times this year). I have been a three time finalist in the HK International Comedy competition.
Garron Chiu is an American born stand up comedian based in Hong Kong. A mainstay in the Hong Kong comedy scene, he is the winner of the 2018 Hong Kong International Comedy Competition, and represented the city in Comedy Central Asia’s “Stand Up Asia!” Season 2. Having been a finalist and placed in many other prestigious Asian festivals (including 2nd in the 2015 Bangkok International Comedy Competition and 3rd in the 2018 China Comedy Competition), he is a headliner in the region, having made people laugh all over Asia. On stage you will find him trying to justify his huge ego, talk about his myriad of doomed relationships (and his currently mostly successful one), and try to figure out whether he is too Asian or not Asian enough. All while failing to run from his stereotypes and making people laugh along the way. Oh, and he rocks the most amazing eyebrows ever.
Matina is a Hong Kong local and has been performing both Chinese and English stand-up since 2009. She has also performed in Mainland China, Macau, Kuala Lumpur, and Melbourne Comedy Festival. She has opened for American stand-up comedians such as Paul Ogata and Kerrie Louise. In 2018, she was the opening act of HK well known comedian Cheuk Wan Chi’s solo show at the Macpherson Stadium in front of 2000 audience. Matina is married with two young girls.
